After hitting a few home runs in the Asian market, Huawei are ready to take on the big hitters with the launch of the Hauwei P8 in Australia.
For the past five years I may as well have been driving around with an Apple bumper sticker. I own an iPhone, iPad and Macbook, but a few mishaps had me attending the Huawei P8 launch wanting to be swayed, and it didn’t take long.
First up, Huawei have won the race for a streamline design, and backed it up with an unrivalled HD display. The screen is bigger and boasts a higher definition than both the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6. On top of this, at 6.4 millimetres, the P8 is the flattest and smoothest smart phone, with no bumps or add-ons where the camera lies.
Speaking of the camera, the P8 has a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, which again beats out the iPhone 6’s capabilities. You don’t need to be a professional to take stunning photos with an inbuilt DSLR level image processor as well as an optical image stabiliser helping prevent blurs.
If you’re partial to a selfie, they will also be enhanced with the Perfect Selfie technology able to highlight your best features. Light painting mode has also been included giving you stunning fluorescent shots.
If you get snap happy you’ll be pleased to hear you’ll never run out of space with the P8 able to hold a micro SD card. While other smartphones call it a day with excessive camera use, the P8 keeps shooting with a longer battery life than both the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
Coming in gold, silver, black or white, the Huawei P8 comes in significantly cheaper than its competitors. For a complete look at all the features of the Huawei P8, head to the Huawei website.
